The City of Delano Enterprise Zone (est.1991) received conditional approval from the State in November 2006. All businesses within the city limits and some county unincorporated areas now qualify for tax saving benefits.
Sears Logistics moved from Los Angeles to Delano in 1991. This center is responsible for shipping goods to Sears throughout the Northwest, West Coast, Alaska and Hawaii. The 1.5 million square foot facility employs about 600 people. website
Paramount Citrus opened its new citrus packinghouse in Delano, in November 2012, to process the company’s sweet, seedless, E-Z peel Cuties California Mandarins. Believed to be the world’s largest citrus packinghouse, the 640,000-square-foot plant is the equivalent to having 11 football fields under one roof and will bring approximately 500 new jobs to Delano. website
